Frequently asked questions
What is TSA?
Technology Student Association is an organization for STEM students to participate in competitive events. Chapters across the nation take part in a variety of different STEM-related events ranging from Engineering Design and Biotechnology to Music Production and Fashion Design. Members can either compete as individuals or as part of a team. Braden River High School TSA is notorious for its 9-year national championship.
How do you join?
At the beginning of each year (around late August), details about the informational meeting are sent out on the school news platforms and in the engineering classes. Prospective members are encouraged to attend the informational meeting to learn more about BRTSA and find out how to join!
What is a conference?
A conference is where chapters go to compete in competitive events. Our chapter attends three different conferences every year: regionals, states, and nationals. The regional conference is held at a local high school, the state conference is held in Orlando, and the national conference is held in a different city each year (ex. Dallas, TX or Washington, D.C.)
What leadership opportunities are available?
BRHS TSA offers many different leadership positions and opportunities throughout the school year, the most prominent being chapter officer and board of director positions. In addition, members can serve on committees or as team leaders.
When do you meet?
Each year, meeting days are reviewed by the chapter officers and advisors to determine which days are best for all of the members to attend. With this being said, meetings are usually on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. More meetings are added as competitions get closer.
